Waldorf clinches the regular season MCC title at 23-5, while William Penn becomes the 2nd seed with a 21-5 record. The tournament starts Thursday, May 1st at Green Valley Softball Complex in Moline, Illinois. Waldorf will play Friday, May 2nd at 11 AM. Waldorf also clinched a spot in the regional tournament to be held in Des Moines on May 7th through 9th.

NIACC Women's Golf team has not one, but two national qualifiers. Brittany O'Brien and Kayli Jones both qualified for the national tournament in Daytona Beach, Florida May 12 through 15th. O'Brien finished 6th with a 174, while Jones finished 10th with a 181.

Kacy Nehowig finished fourth in the women's 5,000-meter race and qualified for the NJCAA outdoor track and field nationals as North Iowa Area Community College fared well at the Loras Open on Saturday. Nehowig ran her race in 19 minutes, 05.50 seconds as the Trojans had numerous top-5 finishes in the women's competition. Becky Dahn placed second in the 400 in a time of 1:02.57 and finished fourth in the 200 with a 27-second clocking. Allie Millonig ran a 12.93 to place second in the 100 and teammate DeAubrey Johnson was fifth in 13.30. Millonig and Johnson were among those who combined for a first-place finish in the 400 relay, running the race in 52.32. Emily Mujica also ran well for NIACC, finishing eighth in 2:30.68 in the 800.
In the throws, Ronnisha Hall and Marin Thorson finished fourth and fifth respectively in the discus, both putting up season bests. Hall's toss of 148 feet, 7 inches is second best among NJCAA competitors. Thorson's 148-2 is third in the NJCAA. Hall placed seventh in the javelin and threw the hammer 139-8 to place ninth.
In the men's competition, Ashton Smith was NIACC's top finisher, placing fourth in the 200 (22.50) and sixth in the 100 in 11.33 seconds after running an 11.21 in qualifying heats.
