The NIACC Boys High School All-Star game Sunday night was a high scoring affair, going to the East squad 109-95. David Asche of Mason City High School had a game high 26 points and added 10 rebounds, while Ryan Stock of SCMT High School had 18 points and 11 rebounds. Jordan Cotter of Northwood-Kensett added 13 and Jarael Madyun of North Butler had 10 for the East squad. Steve Hengesteg of Lake Mills High School had 23 to lead the West, while Brett Putz of Forest City had 21 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Cody Kadolph of Ventura High School added 16 points.

The Waldorf Warrior Softball team took 3 of 4 games played in Cedar Rapids and Davenport this weekend. Waldorf swept a pair of games from Mount Mercy College Saturday, winning the opener 2-0, and coming back in the nightcap for a 2-1 victory in 8 innings. Chelsey Dougherty fired her second no-hitter of the season, striking out 11 and walking 2. Kristen Mariner had 2 hits to lead Waldorf. In the nightcap, Megan Forster drove in the game winning hit in the 8th. Laura Suter pitched 5 strong innings, allowing just 2 hits. Dougherty pitched the final 3 innings to pick up the victory.

Sunday, Waldorf split a doubleheader with Saint Ambrose in Davenport. Saint Ambrose won game one 1-0, as Dougherty picked up the loss despite allowing only 5 hits. In game 2, Waldorf allowed a 9-0 lead to slip away before rallying to win 12-9 in the 8th inning. Kristen Mariner had a 3 run homer in the 1st inning, Rachel Hannam had a grand slam in the 2nd, and Jordan Story hit a 3 run shot in the 8th to power the Warriors offense. Chelsey Dougherty pitched 4 1/3 innings of relief to pick up her 10th win of the season. Waldorf is now 13-8 overall, 5-1 in the MCC. They travel to league-leading Grand View Wednesday for a 3 pm doubleheader.

The Waldorf Warrior baseball team took two of three games from Clarke College in Midwest Collegiate Conference action this weekend in Forest City. Waldorf won the Saturday 9 inning game 3-1. Brooks Maner earned the win, scattering 6 hits over 8 innings. Brian Hodny pitched a scoreless 9th to get the save. Mason Duckett had 2 hits and 2 RBI to lead the Warrior offense. Sunday, in game 1 of a double header, Waldorf scratched out 2 runs on just 2 hits in a 2-1 victory. Zach Etter had both Warrior hits, Bryan Kloetzke and Mason Duckett each had an RBI. Brandon Pitz and Luke Winchell combined on a 9 hitter, striking out 8 Crusaders. In the nightcap, Clarke won 8-7. Dustin Johnson took the loss in relief for the Warriors. Etter had a pair of hits for Waldorf. Waldorf is now 4-9 overall and 2-3 in the Midwest Collegiate Conference. The Warriors are scheduled to host Viterbo University on Tuesday at 2:00 PM.
