The Iowa Operation: Military Kids (OMK) initiative is pleased to partner with the Iowa National Guard Family Program Office and the U.S. Army Reserves to host the two day training, "Supporting Military Children and their families", to be held Tuesday, June 17 and Wednesday, June 18. The training will be held at St. Paul Family Life Center in Ankeny, IA. The purpose of this training opportunity is to help school, mental health, healthcare and other service professionals recognize and respond to issues and challenges facing the children of deployed servicemen and women. The primary goal of the Institute is to reach out in a support network to the children of the National Guard Reserve, and geographically isolated Military Families throughout Iowa.
Registration and a continental breakfast will begin at 8 a.m each morning and the training will conclude by 4:30 p.m. both days. Lunch will be provided onsite during the training. There is no cost to attend the training and registration is limited to 70 participants. The registration deadline is June 9.
