Albert Lea Protect Teens From Online Predators Fri, 18 Apr 2008 16:41:27 CDT
Free public presentation by Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, Monday, April 21 at 2:30 pm & 6:30 pm at Albert Lea Riverland College, Lecture Hall 124.
Using internet communication tools such as chat rooms, e-mail, and instant messageing can put children at potential risk of encountering online predators. The anonymity of the Internet means that trust and intimacy can develop quickly online. Predators take advantage of this anomymity to build online relationships with inexperienced young people. Parents attending this presenattion can help protect their kids by becoming aware of the risks related to online communication and becoming involved in their kids' internet activities. Sponsored by the Freeborn County Crime Victim's Crisis Center. For more information, call Sara Pardoe at 507-377-5479.
