TONIGHT in Lake Mills…Meet the county candidates

Voters in Winnebago & Worth Counties will have an opportunity to hear candidates, for state and local elected offices, answer questions and present themselves to the public tonight and next Tuesday, October 16th. The candidates will be participating in Forums on both those dates at 7 pm in the auditorium of the Lake Mills Community School located at 102 S. 4th Ave. East, Lake Mills, IA. A standard list of questions will be addressed to the candidates, and questions from the public will be taken prior to each event for response by the candidates during the forum if time allows.

The Forum for State elected offices will be held at 7 pm on tonight. The list of candidates for State of Iowa Elected offices includes: John Wittneben (D) of Estherville, IA and Ted Gassman (R) of Scarville, IA whom are running for Iowa House District 7 (Emmet, part of Kossuth, and Winnebago Counties); Josh Byrnes (R) of Osage, IA and Eric Hungerford (D) of Manly, IA whom are running for Iowa House District 51 (Worth, Mitchell, Howard, and part of Winneshiek Counties); Dennis Guth (R) of Klemme, IA and Bob Jennings (D) of Algona, IA whom are running for Iowa Senate District 4 (Emmet, Kossuth, Winnebago, Hancock, Wright Counties); and Merlin Bartz (R) of Grafton, IA and Mary Jo Wilhelm (D) of Cresco, IA whom are running for Iowa Senate District 26 (Worth, Mitchell, Howard, Floyd, Chickasaw, part of Winneshiek and part of Cerro Gordo Counties). Mary Jo Wilhelm has declined the invitation citing a conflict.

This is the only public candidates forum currently scheduled in Winnebago or Worth Counties. Make an informed choice when you vote, and attend these forums to hear the candidates first-hand
