CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (AP) – A judge is rejecting a guilty plea from a Waterloo man who’s accused of ramming three police cruisers during a chase this summer in Hiawatha. Bobby Wolf made a deal with Linn County prosecutors and was prepared to plead guilty to three charges yesterday when a judge intervened.

IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) – Iowa authorities arrested two suspected bank robbers last night after officials say they shot and wounded two officers during a high-speed chase. The two men were arrested last night, about seven hours after the robbery at Maynard Savings Bank.

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) – A consultant report says the base pay for more than 18,000 Iowa state workers is nearly 18 percent higher than comparable workers in the marketplace. The Aon Hewitt report also says pay ranges for Iowa’s employees are significantly higher than those in other states.

MASON CITY, Iowa (AP) – A trombone belonging to the late composer and playwright Meredith Willson is one of a series of items being donated to The Music Man Square in Mason City. The memorabilia arrived from California yesterday. Willson was born in Mason City and wrote the “The Music Man.”
