Hancock County Health System’s Relay For Life Team Hosts 5K Color Run and Walk on Saturday, May 18th

Hancock County Health System’s Relay For Life Team Hosts 5K Color Run and Walk on Saturday, May 18th to raise money for Hancock County Relay For Life. Registration for this fun run/walk will start at 8 a.m. in the Hancock County Memorial Hospital East parking lot with the run/walk beginning at 8:30 a.m.  Registration fee is $25 which includes a white event t-shirt.

Awareness colors have become increasingly popular to gain attention for various cancer types. “We all associate pink with breast cancer, blue with colon cancer, grey with brain, etc.,” said Garry Kerns, Race Coordination. “So our Relay for Life Team thought a color run seemed like the perfect event to raise awareness and money towards the fight against cancer.”

Every kilometer of the run/walk will highlight a different color, which will be sprinkled over the participants, by the time they cross the finish line their white event t-shirt should be splattered with color.” At 9:30 a.m., we will have a Celebration of Color to honor cancer survivors, and remember those who lost their fight against cancer,” Relay For Life Team member, Kim Hillenga said.

No registration is required; however if you would like to fill out the registration and waiver form prior to the event, visit www..if you have event questions, please call 641-843-5000.
